Reps. Eshoo Votes to Outlaw Discriminatory Travel Bans, such as Trump’s ‘Muslim Ban’

April 21, 2021

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today U.S. Rep. Anna G. Eshoo (CA-18) released the following statement after voting on the NO BAN Act, legislation that would prevent travel bans based on religious discrimination.

"President Trump's Muslim ban was based on dangerous and xenophobic rhetoric that generated hate. I welcomed President Biden rescinding this horrible order on his first day in office, but Congress must ensure no such ban is ever enacted again," said Rep. Eshoo. "I'm proud to have voted for the NO BAN Act to prohibit future Administrations from enacting such reckless and discriminatory orders that are clearly un-American."
