Rep. Eshoo Statement on CDC Recommendation of Pfizer Vaccine for Children Ages 5 to 11

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today U.S. Rep. Anna G. Eshoo (CA-18), Chairwoman of the Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee, released the following statement after CDC Director Rochelle Walensky accepted the recommendation of a CDC panel that the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine be administered to children aged 5 to 11. The final vote of the CDC panel was unanimous.

"The CDC recommendation of the Pfizer vaccine for children 5 to 11 years old is welcome news to millions of families across the country," said Eshoo. "This highly vetted vaccine is available for 28 million youngsters, and thanks to the Biden Administration, vaccinations will begin this week. Thanksgiving 2021 will be extra special with the good news of this week."
