WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Anna G. Eshoo (CA-18) released the following statement in response to the $1.9 trillion emergency relief package proposed by the incoming Biden-Harris Administration:

"With our country dangerously close to losing control of the pandemic with record death tolls and increasing job losses, it is a relief and a blessing to hear that the new Administration has a PLAN. The Biden-Harris American Rescue Plan takes bold steps to deliver urgently-needed relief, rebuild our economy, and set a foundation to address racial and societal inequities exposed and worsened by this crisis. The plan will make the investments needed to get the American people vaccinated against this virus; help communities safely reopen schools; provide direct checks to individuals and families; and support small businesses during this economic crisis. This is a promise to the American people that help is on the way, and I'm eager to get to work to get this comprehensive plan passed. It is the best Rx for our country."
