WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Rep. Anna G. Eshoo (CA-18), Chairwoman of the Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee, issued the following statement today after our nation passed the tragic milestone of half a million American lives lost to the coronavirus:

“The U.S. has passed a catastrophic milestone of 500,000 American lives lost to COVID-19. Each life lost was a loved one. They were grandparents, mothers, fathers, siblings, neighbors, doctors, nurses and colleagues. As we mourn the devastating tragedy of every life lost to this virus, we must do everything humanly possible to see that our entire country is vaccinated to end this crisis and prevent more sorrow and heartbreak in our country.

“As I work to pass President Biden’s American Rescue Plan this week, I’m focused on saving lives and rebuilding our economy. Help is on the way.”
