Rep. Eshoo Applauds Santa Clara Vaccine Surge from Federal Health Resources & Services Administration
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Anna G. Eshoo (CA-18) released the following statement on Santa Clara County’s announcement that a significant increase in vaccine supplies, resulting from a program in the federal Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA), has allowed the County Health System to release tens of thousands of additional vaccine appointments to all individuals age 16 or older who live or work in Santa Clara County. This program was made possible in large part because of funding from the American Rescue Plan, the $1.6 trillion package Congress passed last month.
“Santa Clara County requested more vaccines from the federal government and because of the American Rescue Plan, they now have enough to open vaccine eligibility to all adults. It’s a relief and a source of pride to see federal support I helped fight for going directly to help vaccinate our community,” said Rep. Eshoo. “The only way to end this pandemic is with shots in arms. This vaccine surge is essential to Santa Clara County’s efforts to crush this virus. I look forward to quickly getting everyone in our community vaccinated and ending this pandemic once and for all.”
Santa Clara County community members are encouraged to schedule vaccination appointments through the County’s website at sccfreevax.org.
