Rep. Eshoo Announces Funding for 14th Congressional District in Recovery Package

Washington, D.C-Rep. Anna G. Eshoo (D-Palo Alto) announced today that the 14th Congressional District will be receiving funds totaling over $912,000 from the Department of Homeland Security - Federal Emergency Management Agency. The funding was approved in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

"This money will bring immediate relief to communities in our area that are already stretched to their limits trying to address the increasing demands on shelters, soup kitchens, and food banks," said Rep. Eshoo. "These are vital services helping people to get back on their feet during the economic downturn."

San Mateo County will receive $203,694; Santa Clara County will receive $589,295; and Santa Cruz County will receive $120,865. This money may be used to supplement food, shelter, rent, mortgage and utility assistance programs for people with non-disaster related emergencies.
