Press Release

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today U.S. Rep. Anna G. Eshoo (CA-18), Chairwoman of the Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee, released this statement on the Supreme Court’s ruling in California v. Texas:

“Alleluia! Today, the United States Supreme Court affirmed that the Affordable Care Act is the law of the land. This is the third time the Court has upheld the ACA, and in this most recent case, California v. Texas, the Court voted 7 to 2 that it has no standing. This is a victory for the record-breaking 31 million people who are enrolled in essential coverage and for every American who relies on the Affordable Care Act no matter their employment, health status, or income level. The ACA covers pre-existing conditions, children up to the age of 26, and low-income Americans through Medicaid. I will continue to fight to support and strengthen the Affordable Care Act so that every American can benefit from affordable, quality health coverage.”
