PALO ALTO, CA – Today, Rep. Anna G. Eshoo (CA-18) issued the following statement in response to President Trump's announcement that the U.S. will suspend certain work visas, including H-1B and H-2B visas, until December 31, 2020:

"The President's decision to suspend new work visas unfairly blames immigrants for our cascading economy and will only harm our nation's long-term economic recovery, growth and competitiveness. I represent the heart of Silicon Valley, which leads the world in innovation. Nearly one in three of my constituents was born outside of the U.S. and they are essential to our nation's success."
