A Message from Rep. Eshoo on a Shutdown of the Federal Government

Dear Constituents,

On the eve of a possible shutdown of the federal government, I want all my constituents to know that my offices in Palo Alto and Washington, D.C. will remain open to serve the people of the 18th Congressional district. My staff will be on duty and any constituent who has questions or needs assistance can continue to contact us at the Palo Alto office (650) 323-2984 or the Washington, D.C. office (202) 225-8104.

My consistent vote throughout this ordeal has been to keep the government functioning. A shutdown costs taxpayers approximately $150 million a day and has many consequences, some of which are listed here.

The people of our country deserve far better than the spectacle of Congress lurching from one manufactured fiscal crisis to another.

My vote is to govern by doing the work you sent me to Washington to do.

Should you have any questions or comments, let me hear from you. I value what my constituents say to me. I will continue to provide updates on this situation, which I hope will be resolved so the American people are not hurt or our economy damaged.

Sincerely,
