Eshoo Statement on Unanimous Appeals Court Ruling Against Refugee andTravel Ban

February 10th, 2017

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, Congresswoman Anna Eshoo (D-CA) released a statement after the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals unanimously refused to lift the nationwide halt on President Trump’s immigration ban.

“The 9th Circuit’s unanimous ruling is a victory for our Constitution, and adds significantly to lower Court decisions. The Court recognized the ban harmed our national security, families and businesses.

“This decision bolsters my belief that the timeless values embedded in our Constitution are alive and well, that we elect presidents, not monarchs, and that presidents are not above the law.”
