WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Anna G. Eshoo (CA-16), Ranking Member of the Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee, and Rep. Dan Crenshaw (TX-02) introduced the Artificial Intelligence and Biosecurity Risk Assessment Act, bipartisan legislation to study the potential threats of artificial intelligence (AI) on our nation’s biosecurity.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Anna G. Eshoo (CA-16), and Rep. Mike Thompson (CA-04) introduced the Smoke and Heat Ready Communities Act, legislation to help communities plan for and respond to the public health impacts of wildfire smoke and extreme heat. Sen. Merkley (D-OR) is the lead of the Senate companion.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Representative Anna Eshoo (D-CA-16), Ranking Member of the Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee, and Senator Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.) today led their colleagues in introducing two health security bills that would empower the federal government to investigate the health impacts of nuclear war and promote the safe use of artificial gene synthesis, which can be used in designing and mass-producing genetic material that could be used by malicious actors to create a new pandemic.
